To Form a Neighborhood Watch Group or Block Organization:
-
Talk to your friends or neighbors about forming a group and set a
time and place to meet. If you don’t know your neighbors, what a wonderful
excuse to get together and meet them.
-
Create a short form to obtain basic
information of name, address, e-mail, home address and special concerns
and ask members
to fill in the blanks
-
Discuss the issues of your neighborhood/group (i.e.
drug houses, speeders on your street, noisy neighbors, sexual predators)
and develop an action plan. Some issues can be resolved through working
with the police dept., others through neighborhood communication.
One tip to make it work is to get everyone involved and make it fun!
-
Choose
a contact person/block captain
-
Notify Neighborhood Watch of your new presence
by e-mailing information to Neighborhood Watch or call Hank Roth, the
Crime Prevention Coordinator, at 772-6228
-
If you wish to obtain a NW Watch
